This gîte enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the medieval bastide town of Mirepoix, with its 13th-century Couverts de bois and its Maison des Consuls with its famous 104 carved modillions. The entrance is opposite the timber-framed town hall, close to the Baltard-style market hall and the cathedral church, whose nave is one of the widest in Europe. In the heart of the historic center, inside a fully renovated 14th-century building, you'll be amazed by the calm that reigns, as you enter through a bright, green glass roof. On 2 levels: 1st floor: fully-equipped kitchen/living room (various ovens, fridge, sofa, TV) and bedroom (bed 140) with TV; 2nd floor: another bedroom (bed 140), comfortable attic space, bathroom with bath/shower and toilet, and a small balcony overlooking the glass roof. Free WiFi, linen and towels included. The gîte is non-smoking; pets are not allowed; parking is available nearby; and on request, free loan of iron and ironing board, cot and high chair; a cleaning service is available for 35 euros. Mirepoix is a resolutely modern town with a cinema, media library, swimming pool, a wide range of events all year round, numerous shops and bars-restaurants and the remarkable Monday morning market. The banks of the Hers Vif also offer attractive walks and a fitness trail, complemented by the activities of numerous sports associations.
